I Found Da Gold

My Buddy Tim surfing this morning. Pre Rainbow, but still Gold!

Since I'm in my transition week I've had some time to prepare for the new job, do stuff around the house, watch movies, and surf. I've been having a great week and I feel invigorated. I had a great surf yesterday and went back this morning for more. It was another awesome day and I was having a great time in the water. Clouds and rain kept pushing across the beaches and then the sun started to come through. I looked down the beach to the south end of Manly and a rainbow had started to form. It was much of one, but the colors were vivid. A couple minutes later and the rainbow had grown some more. When I looked back a third time there was the most perfectly shaped rainbow growing right out of the ocean and completing a perfect semicircle. I could not believe my eyes. The colors were part of the water and came up out of the ocean, or blended into the sea. Whichever, it was the coolest thing I've seen in a long time. And if there are awesome waves at the end of the rainbow, I'd give up a pot of gold for that any day.

Ewok has been a naughty kitty lately. She consistently wakes me up through out the night scratching, clawing, or rolling around on Melis' bags. So, I figured all right, you won't let me sleep then I'm not gonna let you sleep. Since I've been around during the day I was able to do this. I spent a whole day keeping her awake - no cat naps, no cuddles, no sleeping. Towards dinner time she couldn't even move. She would just flop around. It was pretty funny. Of course come 2 am that night I was woken up to scratches.

Well folks, the World Cup is finally here. I am soo pumped for it to start and what's even cooler is that it kicks off while we're in Fiji. Melissa and I have picked our teams that we want to follow and I'm trying to talk Melissa into watching the games with me - 10 pm, 1 am and 4 am! Sydney does some really cool things for the World Cup. One, is that they promote Australia to the nth degree. This is definitely something the US needs to learn from as we need to back our country 100% no matter what! Darling Harbor will have 3 giant screens floating in the harbor showing the games live. Certain pubs have extended operating hours in order for people to be able to watch the games. Also, in our town of Leichhardt they'll put up a big screen in a square to show the games live to the community. I'm stoked on the setup and can't wait for it to kick off.
