The Unexpected

This has been an insane week and I feel like I wrote the first post a month ago. Work has been crazy for me as I try and close all of my open projects so nothing is left hanging after I depart. At least that was my goal but I don't think that will happen. We have been busy every night hanging out with friends, lots of meals out!! Everyone knows that I love to eat out but I actually miss eating in. As Aaron said so kindly last week, it seemed my plan was to eat my way out of Orange County. :) Last night we had a dinner on the floor of our living room with Anjali and Patrick. Picnic blanket and all. It was a good idea though because they brought ribs and we made a mess. I wish I had taken a picture, the 5 (Kelly too!!) of us sitting crosslegged on our living room floor surrounded by boxes and piles of stuff. I feel like I am SOOO far behind on packing. I keep putting it off and I'm not sure why. It's just not very much fun. On Tuesday as I was packing two of the trunks, I felt sad. It was the realization that life would never be the same again. We have LOVED building a life in Costa Mesa, with our friends down the St., our church next door, riding bikes all over. It's hard to leave something that you love, headed towards the unexpected. For the first time since all of this has happened I felt scared. Scared to be in a city I dont know without my Husband, my family, or my friends. All kinds of thoughts have been rushing through my head. How do I find the Grocery Store? Where is it safe to walk? Can I walk around at night? And most importantly, where will I buy shoes???? ;) I guess it can be compared to when I moved to Paris but I wasnt alone then, the day I moved into my apartment I had roomates. It's just scary to picture myself walking into my new home, alone. Looking past on that, its going to be amazing, new country, new city, new places to explore, its a dream come true!

Tonight we are having dinner with friends at our favorite Italian Restaurant. After that I think I might have to stay up and do some packing. This weekend is going to be super busy with Goodbyes and last minute errands! I hope to have almost everything packed by Saturday...wish me luck!!

T minus 5 days.

These photo's are from our road trip to Napa! We thought it was only appropriate we stop by Viansa for a picture, walk the Golden Gate Bridge, and stop at PEA SOUP!!
