So lets see where do I start....
Bali-A few weeks ago we went on our first REAL vacation since our honeymoon. Long overdue i say and for those of you that are reading this and thinking..long overdue? huh? Don't you live in Australia? Well, living in Australia is not a vacation. Okay well maybe it kinda is but we still have to go to work and do responsible things. Bali was AMAZING. I went into the trip not having very high expectation, thinking I was headed to somewhere similar to Mexico. Well it was not even close. We stayed in Amazing villa's, ate the most amazing food, saw amazing beaches, and also fit in some shopping. It was the perfect combination of surfing for Aaron and relaxing for me. My favourite part were the motorbikes we rented for the week. I cant believe how much fun they are! I loved cruising around town on them. We also had a great time with our friend Brendon, Chris, and the other boys who showed up mid-week. The only downfall was the ridiculous sunburn i received courtesy of some expired sunblock. It put a damper on my tanning and my massages. You cant get a massage with 3rd degree burns all over your body! On top of just a vacation it was also our two year anniversary! Can you believe it? how does time go by so fast? And to think all the things that have happened in two years..the good and the bad...we could have never predicted it. However, where we are today as a couple compared to two years ago is amazing. Our friendship has grown, we have gone through good times and bad, and have finally gotten to the place we always wanted to be. Straight from Bali I came home to work and AA was lucky enough to head on to another week of surfing in the Telo's with the boys. He had a wonderful time but sadly came home with quite a few cuts on his feet from coral! Poor thing! But as Brendon said, Aaron showed his dedication to surfing when he couldn't even walk yet managed to duck tape his feet so he could fit one more day of surfing in! i think that all sounds like the Aaron we know.
The week Aaron was in Telo's was lonely and a little too familiar to last year when i first arrived in Au, the only difference was this time I had ewok to keep me company. It was a lazy week spend eating takeout and catching up on TV. Very exciting I know. Aaron arrived home on last Tuesday...we had a very nice week relaxing and hanging out. Trying to make the most of the few days we had together before he left again. My Mom came in with my Dad yesterday so we picked them up around 12 and headed north to finally introduce them to delicious Australian Meat Pies. For those of you that have already experienced this, you know how amazing Upper Crust is. I think they were both a bit skeptical but were impressed by how amazing they are. Joe took an extra one home and Mom insists we go back this week! Last night we had a big dinner party with Mom, Joe, Meg, Innes, Mel and Bailey. It was fun to finally introduce Mom & Joe to Mel...i think everyone had a good time!
This morning has been quiet so far, AA and I walked to a new little local coffee shop. The weather is turning finally and if the wind would die down it would be fabulous weather. For those of you who didn't see it in the news...click on the below link to check out the crazy dust storm we had. Aaron and I woke up thinking it was the end of the world.
As for now its time to help Aaron pack and then hopefully relax a bit before he has to go to the airport. right now it looks like he will be in Melbourne for training for 6 weeks!! Way to long if you ask me. Its a pretty busy month for me with work so hopefully we can fit in a few weekend trips but I am headed to the Gold Coast for a week at the end of the month for a work event! Oh well, either way we will make it work!
