It's crazy how quickly time flies. It REALLY does not feel like three months since our last post. It is though. And May will be over in a week. Crazy. Well, Melissa was able to grace you all with her presence and I know she loved being back there with all of you. While she was gone I really didn't do too much. Over Easter weekend I went up north with my friend Tim and his wife Sara. Tim broke his wrist a week before the trip, so I had to surf by myself the whole weekend. I haven't had that good of surf for that amount of time for a while. It was awesome! The town we were at is called Crescent Head. It's a small beach town that sits on an incredible point. We'd wake up every morning and walk the couple blocks to the Cafe and grab a coffee. Then we'd go sit on the point and watch the waves for a bit. Then I'd go surf all morning, come back for a breakfast/lunch and go back out. After that it would be another rehydration moment and one more surf before dinner. It was such an awesome and relaxing weekend. The weather was perfect!
Once Melissa got back we had our friends Kat and Brad's wedding at a winery in the Hunter Valley. It was a great wedding and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! Since then the days keep falling off the calendar and we keep going about our day to day activities. Melissa is currently training for a yearly Sydney run called City to Surf. I think it's a bit more than a half marathon. I'm not training for it, cause I could go hike up half dome tomorrow on crutches (Liz, Frasz, Andy, and Landry if you read this it's for you). Actually I'm not training for it cause I don't like committing to things that might detract from my surf time.
Since summer and daylight savings time have left the southern hemisphere my surf time has thoroughly dropped off the face of the planet. Ideally I can surf Sat and Sun, but I keep injuring myself and that has significantly reduced my water time as well.
A couple weeks back we had a robbery. It was pretty intense in the creepiness of the whole thing. Unfortunately, of the things that were taken they were mostly Melis' exciting purchases from the US and our camera. The creep factor is that some stuff was taken off our nightstand while we were sleeping. For the most part we get around fine, but every now and then we jump or lose our breath or look twice behind us.
In June there's a long weekend and we're heading off to Fiji for a long weekend. We're really looking forward to getting out of town and relaxing for a couple days. My wonderful Mother in Law is also planning on visiting us the following weekend!
Well hopefully this is my inspiration to be back on top of posting! More frequent and more detailed posts to come!
