Winter is among us...

Winter is here. At least for us in Australia and I cant say its pleasant. As much as I love wearing my boots I would much prefer it to be warm outside. It seems to get colder as the days go on and today we were blessed with horrible wind and rain. There is nothing pleasant about that! As we have told most of you Australia isn't big on central heating so most home you go into have a slight chill to them. Our house is starting to feel like a dungeon. I have a routine when I get home from the gym these days, I walk in, give Ewok a cuddle and go straight to the little space heater in the living room to turn it on. While I wait for the room to warm up I normally jump into the shower or bath to get myself REALLY warm and the get dressed while still sweating so when I walk out of the bathroom I am welcomed by the warmth of our little heater. Its a great plan but it doesn't always work. Sometimes it is still freezing when I go back into the living room. Very depressing. There is no relaxing in a t-shirt and socks in our house during winter, its uggs, pants, and a sweater. Even Aaron is always wearing his sweatshirt!!! The other downfall of Winter here is the MOLD. Its disgusting and it grows everywhere. Every weekend I open all the doors to let things air out, I normally try to do it when I leave the house so I don't have to sit in the freezing cold. I just don't get it, it grows on clothes, the ceiling, shoes, EVERYTHING. I try to keep it in check with my mold killer but even still I keep finding it popping up in a few places. I guess this is the price we pay for living in an amazing Spring, Summer, and Fall climate. The one benefit of winter currently is its SNOWING. I haven't been to the snow in years and am very excited that we are headed this there weekend with a group of friends. Of course I have all my snowboarding outfits plans and am enjoying the benefits of my husband working at Burton...pants, jackets, goggles, even my own snowboarding boots. I am a little nervous about how much time I may spend on my bum but we will see how it goes. Wish me luck!
