So my big plan last night when I got home was to curl up on the couch with the computer and write an update, well that didnt happen because for some reason the wireless Internet is not working and I instead spent 2 hours on the phone trying to get it fixed to no avail. Hopefully today, the Internet at home does still work but only if this computer is plugged in which is a big pain in the butt!!
This past weekend I went to Melbourne to hang out with Brendon, Christina, and Amelia!!! I left for the airport at around 5:30 Friday morning, running a little bit late. As I pulled into long term parking I realized I had forgotten my passport. I called Aaron in a panic who told me to just go and see if my Id would work. Well guess what? I was never once asked for any form of ID. Flying domestically in AUS is just like it used to be back in the day in the US. No stress, you sail right on through. Upon arrival in Melbourne Christina and Amelia picked me up and we went back to their house. Their house is AMAZING. Seriously the dream entertaining home. They have this HUGE room at the back of the house with a dining table that seats 14 and the back wall is all doors that open up. The one wall in the dining room will eventually be covered it photos...ahh its amazing. My dream house. We spend most of the day Friday on what Brendon calls "The Latte Tour". We relaxed in cafe's, met some friends and did some shopping. The weather was pretty brutal all weekend long, very cold with lots of rain. Christina also took me by Calma, her spa, which was very impressive, I could see myself spending quite a bit of time there. Friday night we went out with two other couples to a fantastic restaurant called, Hotel Nest. The food was to die for but the weird part was despite the amazing food, and packed bar, we were the ONLY table in the restaurant the entire night. It was so odd. Although we had so much fun that we barely noticed. We ended the night at some other pub hanging out till about 2:30am.
Saturday Christina and I woke up a little worse for wear. Brendon was so kind enough to make us some toasted sandwiches. Eventually we made out way out of the House with Amelia and headed down to Brunswick street. It was a cool street but with the weather, a cranky baby, and how we were feeling we didn't last long and ended up heading home with a few DVD's for a quiet night in!!
Sunday was another fun day, Christina took me to have lunch with her friend Nat who is the creator of Moxie (look it up ladies). It was so great to meet Christina's friends since I hear so much about them all of the time!!! We ended the afternoon at another friends 1 Year Old's bday party before Brendon took me to the airport. It was so funny I could picture all of my friends years from now being just like them, all still friends, nothing changed but a few kids running around!!! The flight home was easy once again, I managed to find my way to the car in even more rain.
They say its going to be a wet summer, I'm still hoping they are wrong. All I know is i cant wait for out stuff to come so I can have my rain coats and my trainers. No more flip flips in the rain or running shoes as part of my outfit!!
Here's a link for the pictures...enjoy.
