I have been leaving the blog posts up to Aaron but figured it was about time I posted one of my own. As Aaron said in his last blog post we are in the middle of a full on winter. Actually, I'm not even sure if we are in the middle of it yet, that's just wishful thinking on my part. :) It is FREEZING, at home, at work, outside, wherever you go. As most of you know I hate to be cold, I prefer the hot sun beating down on me not being bundled up in numerous layers of clothes. I cant remember what it was like when I lived in PA winters but it must have been like this. I think if Australian's were fond of central heating it might make it a little bit easier BUT they aren't and prefer to freeze. lol. Last week we invested in a space heater which does make a difference, not a huge one but it takes the chill off and instead of sitting on the couch with two blankets I can sit with one. I am hoping that winter passes quickly and I can put away the sweaters and jackets. Its so strange to think that as I sit here bundled up everyone at home is enjoying the first days of summer. Yes, I am extremely jealous. :) Things have been pretty quiet around here. We were in Melbourne a few weeks ago to spend some time with Brendon and Christina and had a blast as always. On a whim i decided to cut my long blond locks off and so far I am loving it. It was a shock for Aaron but like the brown hair he is getting used to it. Hey, its only hair and it grows back. Secretly I'm thinking next time I might even go shorter but don't tell him that. ha ha. We recently bought a new lounge (as the ozzies call it). The original one we bought is like a futon and has now moved into the guest room so our guests no longer have to sleep in the middle of the family room! We had wanted to get everything set up before Aaron's parents arrive next month. We had planned on putting down a deposit then having to wait 4-6 weeks for the new one to arrive however by chance we wandered in during a sale and got 15% off and delivery in 2 days! Obviously anyone reading this can tell not to much exciting happens if I am rambling on about a couch. :) ha ha There is a point to the story which is that because of the new lounge we spend the ENTIRE weekend last week laying on the lounge watching movies...I have never had such a comfy couch!! This weekend we were a bit more adventurous and met up with some new friends for dinner on Friday. What was supposed to be a quiet night didn't put us at home until 2am BUT it was well worth it. We had a blast and laughed all night long. Yesterday it poured all day long clearing only long enough for our friend Chris to come over and us to venture to Megan's side of the city for a few hours of laughs at The Oaks. it is a very neat bar/pub that has a HUGE beer garden. It was nice to sit outside under the big OAK tree (get it?) ha ha. We had fun catching up with Megan, Innes, and Chris. The picture above is from last night. Aaron is gone today at a work golf tournament, so far its been clear of rain but who knows? he was very excited to spend the day with the boys. I spent the morning being domesticated aka grocery shopping, its been a few weeks so we were out of EVERYTHING. I finally took the time to sweep up the leaves that have been overtaking the front of our house. I'm sure it was a sight to see, me who has never swept leaves in my entire life out there in my uggs with my ipod on, swinging the broom into the tree so i wouldn't run into any spiders. Ewok just sat at the door and watched me. Its about 2 right now and I am trying to decide what to do next...ewok is asleep next to me and its started to rain again. boo hoo good thing i have those rain boots. lol. Not to much planned for the rest of the day, thinking of making some banana bread and putting on a movie. :) Not to much planned for this week either, Joe is here again on Thursday so we will see him for dinner and I might go see a movie on Tuesday with some girl friends but besides that, nada. A busy work week as always I am sure. Thats all my updates for now! I miss everyone and am daily planning my big trip home for Dre's wedding in March, you know mapping out where I am going to eat and shop, the important stuff. lol At least I can laugh at my ridiculousness!! Miss you all and Happy Fathers Day Dads!!! (Technically its not till September here) xo
