Conehead the Sequal

Just like Hollywood I'm running out of original ideas, and thus revert to sequels. Ewok is still hilarious with her conehead. She's also still ridiculously cuddly. On top of that she seems to have latched on to me a bit which is nice! Poor cat's got way too much going on in her life at the moment. She's already off balance due to the cone, and now we're starting to pack so she's probably feeling like we're about to go on a trip and leave her!

I went down to the snow on Friday. Yep, that's right, Friday is a weekday and I wasn't on vacation. Australia got one of the best snows in about the last 5 years over the course of Wed and Thurs last week. Thursday morning the Operations Manager comes in and says if go snowboarding tomorrow work will let us go! Immediately we were all trying to arrange rides. The mountains are about a 5 and half hour trek from Sydney and are pretty similar to Mountain High in So Cal. We left Thursday night and got hooked up with a place to stay so that was cool since we pulled in at about 1:30 am! We woke up the next morning and had such a rad day. The snow was super fun and I was loving getting back into it. I'm still amping on the experience and that's another reason why I love my job!

Today is Sunday and Melissa and I have done some pre packing. I actually drove past our new spot yesterday and got re pumped on it! It was funny cause the for rent sign out front had a Leased stamp on it, and I thought to myself, "yeah, that's us - we got it!". Pretty dorky, I know, but you guys have to come and check it out to understand how perfect it is. Next step - how can we one day buy it off of the current owners! haha!

Melissa and I went on hike this afternoon. We went up to a spot we've never been to before and it was pretty awesome. I took a bunch of photos to upload, but we've already packed the camera cable so no photos at the moment! It was a cool area though. There's a big headland and there's tons of walking trails that take you down to the water on either side. There are a lot of little beaches with crystal blue water and amazing scenery. I'm looking forward to the summer to go up there and go swimming!

We have a busy month coming up. The first weekend in September is another contest for me. This is a team based contest, which should be pretty fun. I've never done this format before but it should be good. I'm in 7th place in the standings and it's a close battle with some friends so hopefully things don't get ugly. Then Melissa heads off to Fiji for her work trip. She gets back on our anniversary and I leave the next day for our employee appreciation trip to the mountains. We also get the keys to our new place that Friday. When I get back we'll move all our stuff across and get set up in our new place. Then Scott and Andrea come out a couple of weeks later!
