Wrap up

Today is Sunday and it's been a week since Mom and Dad left.  We had such a good time with them and it was very sad to see them go.  The day they came in we picked them up at the airport and brought them back to our humble abode in Annandale.  After settling in and introducing them to Ewok we headed into the city.  We meandered through the botanical gardens and on over to the opera house.  The afternoon went by quickly and Mom and Dad were fading fast on the bus ride home.  We opted for an early dinner and went to our local Thai restaurant.  Actually now I can't quite remember if we went to Thai that night or another one.  Oh well, we did go to Thai one night.  We actually had some great meals over the course of those two weeks.  We went to Thai, we went to a nice Cafe, Melissa made some amazing dinners, Mom and Dad made us some amazing dinners, we had killer pies, and capped it all off with our favorite Indian restaurant.  Dad and I went surfing Friday afternoon and it was pretty mackin.  We went back on Saturday and it was a beautiful day and the swell had dropped off a bit so it was smaller and really clean.  Sunday was rainy and we just kept it pretty mellow.  I think we were all tired and just relaxed after going to church in the morning.  Monday I went crazy trying to take care of our car registration and title and then we had an awesome day at the Sydney Zoo.  The Zoo is on a point on the north side of the harbor.  It has spectacular views from anywhere in the park and is exceptionally landscaped.  The first baby elephant born in captivity in Australia was running around and was very cool to see.  Mom and Dad were busy cruising around town going on walks and checking out some sights.  I went with Dad on another mid week surf and we got some smallish waves, but it was fun to be out there.  Mom and Dad then spent a day with the Thortons and Melissa and I had a farewell dinner with our friend Bing Ree, AKA Chris.  Friday we Joe, Mom, Dad, Melissa and I all went to the Indian restaurant we all packed into the clown car to drop Joe off at his hotel later in the night.  On Saturday Dad and I went to the South Coast and got some AMAZING waves.  It was soo good and we had a blast.  Sunday morning we woke up and Mom and I played some tennis.  We packed up the clown car part II and went to The Galleries cafe and had a massive brunch.  The food is delicious and you get very generous portions.  From there it was off to the airport for sad goodbyes!
