So, I've had the luxury of a 2 week vacation, however it hasn't been too luxurious. There haven't been any waves, the weather has been rainy, and I'm not the best at just relaxing. Especially after so many months of not doing anything last year, I haven't been able to wrap my head around sitting around and not feeling bad about it. Melissa is back at work this week and of course the sun is brightly shinning today. It's now been 10 years since I graduated high school and it is definitely an overwhelming thought. The good news is that I'm starting this year off with a job! I'm looking forward to getting back to work on Monday and getting back out there to try and make some sales. Here's a bit about what I do:
My company is a telecommunications wholesaler. We have partnerships with the top two telecom companies in Australia. Theoretically we buy "time" off of them at a cheaper rate and resell it to Small and Medium sized businesses. Typically the rates we can offer this niche of customers is cheaper than they could get going directly to the Telecoms. The benefit to the telecoms is that we provide customer service and support to these customers and alleviate the top two from having to do it. Since we're also using their infrastructure any business we bring in is more traffic and business for them. The process of my sale involves a first appointment which is primarily a meet and greet. Following is a second appointment where I present our proposal. Hopefully the third should be a signing. Depending on the size of the business there could be more or less meetings to get to the signing point. There's a call center which is responsible for booking us leads. I typically have 3 appointments a day. At the moment the majority are 1st appointments, but now that I've been doing it for a month I have quite a few 2nds coming up when I start again on Monday. I'm pretty excited about this opportunity and have really been putting in some effort. It's cool to be able to work hard and have the possibility of a high reward.
